2019 – Lighthouses & Lobsters of Mid-Coast Maine

This is a very comprehensive workshop on the mid-coast of Maine with a diverse number of subjects! The Mid-coast of Maine workshop is or all skill levels.

We recommend folks bring all of their lenses with them as we’ll use them all during the workshop!  There’s nothing like using every lens in your bag for gaining more experience and knowledge about photography.  Tripods will be necessary as well.
We’ll have a lot of interesting different subjects to photograph which will challenge your creativity helping to improve your photography skills. The lighthouses, harbors, towns and much more  will be key of course. We’ll have lots of educational and fun photography topics to cover as mentioned below along with constructive image  critiques to further your photography along to the next level.

With over 10 years of photo workshop experience and over 30 years of familiarity with this region you’ll be in good hands!  Not to mention the long term photography experience alone.

2019 – Lighthouses & Lobsters Wednesday May 15th at 3pm rough Sunday May 19th  around Noon

This photo workshop focuses on the mid-Maine coastal region around Damariscotta, Rockland and Port Clyde areas to just name a few.  Coincidentally, Osprey may be  very active during our workshop dates preying on the Alewives that come inland to spawn.  We’ll check that out as well but won’t be our focus. So, besides Lighthouses, lobster boats and pretty Maine harbors plan on street , long exposure, sunrise & sunset photography!

The workshop starts on Wednesday May 15th at 3pm at our hotel (Hotel Pemaquid with special rates for the workshop…room cost not included in workshop fee) & ends around noon on Sunday May 19th around noon time and costs $549 with two workshop leaders in the field.  This workshop includes image review sessions.

The mid coast of Maine is home to several photogenic lighthouses and we will spend time exploring them along with the areas around them along the coast.  Two Lighthouses that are the highlight of this area and ones we’ll visit include Pemaquid Point Light & Marshall Point Light.  We will work on subject development with an emphasis on travel photography and scenics using all of the lenses in your camera bag.  Be ready and rested for long days with  evening and early morning photography when the light is great for photography.

During the 4+ days & evenings we will work in the field with attendees as we explore a wide variety of subject matter.

In this workshop we will cover:

Subject Development
Use of Lenses
Use of Filters
Creative Thinking
Shooting in Low Light
Night and long exposure photography
Long Exposures
Image Critiques
